The American GI Forum (AGIF), founded in 1948 by Dr. Héctor P. García, is a congressionally chartered organization dedicated to advocating for the rights of Hispanic veterans and promoting education and civil liberties. Its mission is encapsulated in its motto: "Education is Our Freedom and Freedom should be Everybody's Business." 

 WE AS AGIF of BEXAR COUNTY operate our chapter focusing on:

• Veterans' Rights: Ensuring that all veterans, regardless of background, receive the recognition and benefits they have earned.

• Educational Opportunities: Providing information and motivation on education, scholarships, and post-secondary educational opportunities.  

• Civil Rights Advocacy: Upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States and promoting equal opportunities for all citizens.  

Through these efforts, the American GI Forum continues to honor the legacy of its founder by serving those who have served the nation.
