About

MY CITY IS MY HOME

We are proud to officially announce that My City Is My Home has partnered with the American GI Forum (AGIF) — a historic national nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting veterans and community members to address the most pressing issues facing our neighborhoods.

So, who is the American GI Forum?

Founded in 1948 by Dr. Hector P. Garcia, the American GI Forum has a long legacy of advocating for veterans, fighting for civil rights, expanding access to education, and strengthening communities across the United States. For decades, AGIF has worked to ensure that those who served our country — and the families and communities they return to — have access to opportunity, dignity, and support. Their mission is rooted in service, integrity, and accountability.

What does this partnership mean for My City Is My Home?

Simply put — more support, greater reach, and stronger impact.

Our programs are not changing. We will continue providing education and resources for homeowners and renters, connecting families with licensed professionals, and empowering residents with the knowledge they need to protect their homes and financial futures. However, we will no longer be doing this work alone.

Through this partnership, we now have the backing of a respected national organization with established networks of veterans and community leaders. This means stronger outreach, increased volunteer capacity, and expanded community engagement. One of our past challenges was reaching more people who need these services. With AGIF’s support, we can now connect with more veterans, families, and neighborhoods than ever before.

This partnership also strengthens our credibility and long-term sustainability. It aligns our mission with an organization that shares our commitment to service and community empowerment.
